AA Game

Here, you can see the biggest narrative game I’ve seen through, in a realistic, crime drama setting. I was a producer for our story-focused teams. Amongst other work, I guided us through a months-long script review, revision, and replanning effort. After release in July 2022, the response has been incredible, with IGN calling it a “masterwork of branching storytelling".

Story Bible

This is an example of a story bible covering all the key elements needed during the design phase including character briefs, location details, and a treatment. This is for a visual novel set in a fictional Mexico beset by wildfires, targeted at adult adventure gamers.

Bio & Barks

A detailed character bio, along with an overview of the game she appears in and a wide variety of sample lines she might say in various situations, organised by context.

NPC Dialogue

Sample of background NPC dialogue across very different settings. This can be expanded for any alternate style upon request.

Screenplay & Dialogue

My writing in screenplay format, covering a one-act story with three characters, all in a single room. Demonstrates dialogue, stage direction, and how I handle characters with secrets. A mother and a daughter go to a ritual to lift a curse. If only they were all honest with one another.

Branching Story in Unity

A branching text adventure about grief and tough choices. Written in ink and built in Unity, this is a targeted example of how my technical ability mixes with my writing to be able to deploy a fully complete piece on the internet.

Classic Text Adventure

This is an example of my writing for classic interactive fiction, the locked room puzzle. It is done traditionally in second person, and can be played through in 5-10 minutes, with four endings.

Game Pitches

Should you need support in making concise game pitches to prospective publishers or investors, these three do just that within a single paragraph for story-based games in the Star Wars Universe.

RPG Campaign Pitches

These shows how I would pitch existing games to prospective players, in the tabletop RPG scene. Each of these four pitches stays within two pages, and each includes mood-heavy scenes to entice players.

Negotiation Text Game

This is a full game coded natively in C++ and played on the command line. It was an experiment done for my master’s degree, showing how I can take an unusual mechanic—assessing a negotiating partner and bargaining—and apply that to a narrative-heavy, but brief adventure.

Game Design Document

This is an example of a high-level GDD for the above negotiation game, in order to show the typical contrasts from design to development to deployment. This is how I typically start game projects.

200-Word RPG

Here, I show an example of concision in game design, written for a yearly competition. It also shows working mechanics in an unusual, but universal setting. It’s quite short—consider giving it a try!

En Español

This is a linear, but surreal short story demonstrating my writing abilities in Spanish.
